Fall 2025 Workshop Kick-Off Saturday, September 27, 2025 1 PM - 3 PM
We're launching our Fall 2025 Workshop Season with a vibrant celebration of heritage and hands-on art! Join us for our first featured workshop, Monarchs and Mascaras, where tradition meets imagination in a colorful, family-friendly experience inspired by the folk art of Mexico and the symbolism of the monarch butterfly.
Hosted by our new Artistic Director, Megan Shirley-Ross, this interactive workshop draws inspiration from the rich Folk Art traditions of Mexico and the current gallery exhibition by artist Lowell Wolff.
Together, we’ll explore:
🦋 The symbolic importance of monarch butterflies to the Purépecha tribe of Michoacán, Mexico
🎨 The art of creating colorful mascaras (masks) inspired by traditional designs
🗣️ Engaging conversations about cultural storytelling through art
🖌️ Hands-on crafting, color, and creativity for all ages!
