All are welcome on Main Avenue in New York Mills on Saturday, September 20, 2025, as the Continental Divide and the Cultural Center team up once again to bring you the second annual PICKLETOBERFEST!

Pickletoberfest is FREE to attend and open to ALL! Event will be held outdoors on Main Avenue, in front of the Divide, Library, and Cultural Center, from 11am - 10pm.

New this year, the Continental Divide Brew Pub is hosting the first-ever Pickletoberfest Brewery Invitational BEER FEST! Enjoy beer sampling from 3:00 -5:00 p.m. from 14 breweries. This is a ticketed event. Tickets are $25 and include unlimited sampling from 3-5PM from a branded cup that you get to keep! Tickets are available for purchase at the Divide and the Cultural Center.

We are excited to announce Zach Thomas live on Main Avenue from 6-9PM!

From the small town of Wendell, Minnesota, Zach Thomas has quickly made a name for himself with his powerful voice, heartfelt songwriting, and high-energy performances. A 2023 Midwest Country Music Organization “Male Vocalist of the Year” nominee, Zach’s music resonates across genres, with his 2022 EP Better Off climbing to #14 on the iTunes Country Album Charts.

Zach has brought his dynamic sound to stages across the Midwest, performing alongside national acts such as Dylan Scott, Easton Corbin, Charlie Daniels, Rodney Atkins, and Kolby Cooper, and even sharing the stage with country superstar Keith Urban. With a spirit that can’t be tamed and a sound that leaves an impression, Zach Thomas is an artist on the rise you won’t want to miss.

The Divide will be open normal hours all day (11AM - 10PM), serving a variety of pickle-themed food and drinks. There will also be a limited amount of Pickletoberfest merchandise available for sale -- get it while it lasts!

The Cultural Center will be open extended hours (10AM - 5PM), so you can enjoy FALL FUN both indoors and out. Check out the Gallery, peruse the Gift Store, and learn more about all the programs and events they bring to the community. Keep your eye out for a fun pickle-themed craft opportunity!

Quick history lesson: New York Mills used to be home to the Theissen Pickle Factory, which used to host the NYM Fall Pickle Fest in the late 1950s & 1960s. In 2024, we decided to bring back this long-forgotten festival and combine it the recently revived NYM Oktoberfest party! So dust off your lederhosen, dirndl, or pickle costume and join us for some good old-fashioned fun!

Pickletoberfest Schedule of Events for Saturday, September 20:

🥒11AM-10PM Pickle-themed food, drinks & fun @ the Divide

🎉11AM-10PM Main Avenue closed down for fun & games for the whole family!

🥒2-3PM Homemade Pickle Contest - Crowning of the new Pickle Queen or King!

🍺3-5PM Beer Festival! $25/person for unlimited sampling from 3-5PM.

🎶 6-9PM Live Music by Zach Thomas outside on the street

You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs if you wish to sit outside and enjoy the music and festivities. Some tables & chairs will be provided.

Interested in the being the 2025 Pickle Queen or King?
We are taking pickle entries now until Friday, September 19th! Bring in your pickles, entry fee, and sign up! Judging will take place from 2-3pm on September 20th.
New rules this year:
1. Only taking Dill Pickles
2. $5 Entry Fee (100% payout to winner)
3. 2nd and 3rd will receive prizes
Judges will be focusing on the following criteria:
  • Appearance
  • Texture
  • Flavor
  • Quality


PICKLETOBERFEST PRE-PARTY:

The Divide decided to kick off the Pickletoberfest festivities a little early this year! Join them on Friday evening, September 19, for some good old-fashioned Oktoberfest fun.

Official Oktoberfest keg tapping ceremony at 7pm. To celebrate the kick-off to Pickletoberfest, the 1st round will be on the Divide until the keg is gone! So come early!  There will also be a bonfire on the patio with beer poking and a Stein Hoisting competition with a chance to win FREE tickets to our Beer Fest on Saturday!
