Doors @ 7:00 | Music @ 7:30PM
The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s 2026 Concert Series continues with Erik Keranen live in concert on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
Join us in the Cultural Center's intimate listening-room-style gallery space for an evening of original music from a songwriter with deep roots in West Central Minnesota.
A graduate of New York Mills High School, Erik Keranen returns to the community where his musical journey began, bringing with him songs inspired by life on the road, the outdoors, and the landscapes that continue to shape his work.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the concert beginning at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door; members get a $2 discount. Students $5. Seating is first come, first served. Enjoy a cash bar and snacks while you take in an evening of original live music.
Please note: Our Phase 1 front facade construction project begins in late July with expected completion in September. The Cultural Center will remain open during construction of our Cultivating Community Capital Campaign, making this a unique opportunity to experience a concert while seeing exciting improvements underway. Work includes the complete replacement of our historic front windows and doors with custom, energy-efficient windows and the restoration of the front façade. During construction, concert attendees should enter through the back entrance, accessible from the parking lot. This entrance includes our accessible ramp, and event signage will help guide visitors.
Be among the first to see our capital campaign construction progress! While you're here for the concert, you'll get an up-close look at the exciting transformation taking place as we renovate our historic front façade.
Growing up in New York Mills, Erik Keranen played trumpet in the Concert Band, guitar in the Jazz Band, and sang in the Choir. Before graduating, he performed with local groups including Limited Edition, Jim Sunstrom & the Country Aires, and Fire and Rain. Today, based in Grand Junction, Colorado, Erik has independently released two albums of original music and continues to write songs for the modern rambler.
With stripped-back acoustic guitar, soulful harmonica, and heartfelt storytelling, Erik bridges the gap between past and present. Fans of Steve Earle, Gram Parsons, and Bob Dylan will appreciate his authentic songwriting and Americana-inspired sound, while his genuine stage presence creates a memorable live music experience for audiences of all kinds.
