2026 Summer Art Camps - Register Today!
We are thrilled to introduce the Cultural Center’s first-ever Summer Art Camp Series — five unique themed camps designed to spark creativity, build artistic skills, and inspire young makers all summer long!
Each camp offers a deep dive into a different creative theme while exploring a wide variety of art and craft techniques. Campers will experiment with drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, collage, and more — all in a fun, supportive studio environment.
Whether your child loves bold colors, imaginative projects, or hands-on crafting, there’s a camp designed just for them.

- Fish + Folk Art: July 6–9 | 9:00am–12:00pm | Ages 6+

What to Expect:
- Each camp runs 3 hours per day
- Projects are age-appropriate and skill-building
- A variety of techniques explored within each theme
- Small group instruction in a creative, encouraging setting
- Multiple fininshed artworks to take home
Every day includes a planned snack break. A selection of snacks and water will be available. Please send your child with a water bottle, and feel free to pack additional snacks if they prefer or if there are any special dietary needs.
About the Instructor:
All workshops will be taught by Megan Shirley-Ross, Artistic Director of NYMRCC. Megan is a practicing visual artist and dedicated teaching artist with a BA in Fine Arts from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM).
For over 10 years, she has been adapting and teaching art lessons for kids, focusing on making “big A art” accessible to young Makers. She introduces students to a wide variety of techniques and media while sharing her passion for creativity, curiosity, and the joy of making. Megan strives to create a welcoming, inspiring environment where every child feels confident exploring their ideas and expressing themselves through art.

Art + Folk Art
July 6–9 | 9:00am–12:00pm | Ages 6+
Make a splash this summer! Inspired by the New York Mills Annual Fish House Festival and folk artists like Clementine Hunter, Maud Lewis, and the Gee’s Bend quilters, young creators will design colorful fish, mini fish houses, and bold mixed-media masterpieces!

Colorful Horizons
July 13–16 | 1:00pm–4:00pm | Ages 8+
Big skies, bold color, and brave brushstrokes! Young artists will explore landscapes inspired by Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Winslow Homer, and Paul Signac in this vibrant summer art adventure!

Dream Builders

Dream big and build bold at Dream Builders! Young creators will design, construct, and style their own spaces—plus get real-world inspiration from guest designer Sarah Carlson of Thiesen Design at New York Mills Regional Cultural Center!
