Longest Night Music Festival December 21st at NY Mills Cultural Center

At the winter solstice the Center opens its doors to an evening of music, food, and conversation with friends and neighbors.  Musicians from the region gather and perform on the night of the 21st of December, giving back to the community on the darkest evening of the year. Join us for this free, informal, and joyous get together.  Festivities begin at 7:00 pm. No reservations are required and everyone is invited to attend.

Musicians coming to the Longest Night this year include Elisa Korenne of New York Mills and David Stoddard of Fergus Falls.  Returning this year are Dave Virnala of New York Mills and John Perry of New York Mills.  These musicians will be joined by New York Mills Chief of Police Jim Van Schaick and Amy Wallgren of New York Mills.  Michael Dagen and Amber Fletschock of Hewitt will perform under their duo identity of Dorthy Fix.  The a capella quartet Kordal Kombat, composed of four alumni of the University of Minnesota, Morris, will also sing in the longer days to come.

Thank you to Dean and Kathy Simpson and Dean’s Country Market of Perham and New York Mills, and Dennis and Joan Happel and Happel Law Office of Perham for sponsoring this joyful musical night.
